In the year 2022, I was living in a very old sharehouse in Sydney’s Inner West.* Skip to the TLDR; to access my old rates haha
The paint peeled from the walls, the kitchen’s oven had a hole in the bottom and my housemates were constantly doing band practice. I was working a job that paid the bills but not much more. Over the course of 2019-2021, I had also been camming weekly and it had become a steady rhythm for some time. People expected me there (online) in my little cotton on shorts and tiny lil tank, listening to Sade, Porches, Mazzy Star, Portishead whilst slowly running my fingers and hands over my body, graduating to nudity and maybe climax behind a digital curtain.
Sounds easy or even simple, but this went on for 3+ hours with me sometimes walking away figuratively with less than $20.
Your average regular could spend a lot online, or only spend around $8-$50 for each 3 hour timeslot. Maybe one day I’ll tell you about the committed Star Trek fan, who somehow felt I belonged to him, for the very generous donation of $30, each 3 hours spent with him in a digital chatroom.
Between you and I, I had started logging into the chat console (this is what I call OBS) to start camming whilst working my day job.
Dangerous.
This was an odd, fun, draining and also addictive time that was running its course. As my eyes got drier, my patience dwindled and I needed some more excitement and connection in my life. I also really like meeting new people. My digital self morphed into Edie, pixel by pixel.
I took the leap into meeting IRL with a few hiccups. I met with a tiny little agency, but for pretty obvious reasons, that fell apart pretty quickly.
I slowly but surely got my ads out. Escortify, Scarlet Blue, Ivy Societe, Escorts and Babes, Dakota Dice, Tryst.
This is getting a little memoir-ey but I’m feeling a bit nostalgic for the times in which I didn’t have to wonder if a video or picture was real.
I’m looking forward to experiences I haven’t had yet and I’m revitalised by new connections and the energy this has given me.
The metro is also opening near where I work, so I don’t even have to drive and fight randoms for parking soon, which is making me dizzy with excitement.
